LANCASTER, Pa. – Avi Bregman of Haverford College's men's outdoor track & field team finished fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invite on Friday night and that performance has earned the junior the Centennial Conference's track athlete of the week award, as announced the by the league office Tuesday morning.

At Princeton Bregman posted a career-best time of 8 minutes, 59.67 seconds which is the Centennial's top time in the event on its in-season performance list. His time is just three seconds off the Haverford record and less than nine seconds away from the league mark.

Among national competitors in Division III, Bregman's steeplechase time is the third-fastest in the country according to the updated TFRRS (Track & Field Results Reporting System) listing.
