HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College junior pole vaulter Ethan Gadra has been named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Outdoor Track & Field All-Mideast Region selection, the organization announced in a release on Friday afternoon.

Top-five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team. The regions used for this award process – Atlantic, Central, Great Lakes, Mideast, Midwest, New England, South/Southeast, West – match those used during both the cross country and indoor track & field season. The mark was the fourth-best in the Mideast Region during the 2021 outdoor campaign. This is the first All-Region honor for Gadra, who is the reigning Centennial Conference champion in the indoor pole vault.

The West Chester, Pa. product picked up the All-Region plaudit based on his school record shattering performance at the Philadelphia Metropolitan Intercollegiate Invitational, clearing a height of 4.55 meters (14 feet, 11 inches) to establish a new Haverford program record at the University of Pennsylvania hosted meet. Gadra, who previously took the indoor program record at the Centennial Conference Championships in 2020, eclipsed the previous outdoor mark of 4.41m (14-6) set by Jeff Barton '04 at the 2004 Centennial Conference Championships.

Despite just one date of competition during the outdoor track campaign, Haverford has now had at least one All-Region selection in each year of the award's history, dating back to the 2016 season.
