COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - On day two of the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Ursinus, the Haverford College men's track & field team posted a pair of medal winning performances while earning some key qualifying marks in preliminary action as the squad battled another day of rainy conditions in Collegeville.  After the completion of action on day two, Haverford currently sits in fifth place with 36 total points, above rival Swarthmore in sixth (26 points). Ursinus continues to pace the field at home, with 96 total points.

Seamus Fraser posted a bronze medal finish in the 3,000 meters as he ran to a time of 9:50.24, easily outpacing fourth place finisher Will Tripp of Dickinson. Luca Ponticello also finished in scoring position for Haverford, clocking a time of 9:58.36 for sixth place with a strong showing. Just outside the scoring was Sammy Schindel in 12th (10:37.22) and Seamus Flannery (10:40.41) in 13th. Jacob Foster (6.10 meters or 20 feet) and Ravi Eaton (6.07 meters or 19 feet, 11 inches) both finished just outside the scoring in the long jump, ahead of marks from Alex Reichard in 15th (5.79 meters or 18.99 feet) and Nathan Ma in 19th (5.21 meters or 17 feet, 1.12 inches).

The 4x800 meter relay squad of Matthew Denton, Jeffrey Allen, Reed Solomon and Reza Eshghi clocked a third place finish in action to wrap up the day, picking up bronze with a spirited performance in the rain. Haverford clocked a 7:54.57, just shy of the Ursinus squad in second and well ahead of fourth-place McDaniel.

In preliminary action, Jamie Moreland clocked a qualifying mark in the 800 meters as he will look to complete a middle distance double tomorrow, competing in both the 800 and 1,500 meters at Ursinus. Moreland's 1:57.24 was good for the top time in his fourth heat as he was the only qualifier out of that heat.  Ravi Eaton narrowly missed qualification in the 400 meters, finishing 11th (52.59) while Jonathan Hill (23.13), was also just outside of qualification in the 200 meters. Alex Reichard (11.60) was also just outside of direct qualification in the 100-meter dash, clocking a 12th place finish.

A busy third day of action is on the slate tomorrow, with an all-finals schedule beginning in earnest with a starting time of 11 a.m. at Patterson Field on the Ursinus campus. Live video and live results can be accessed via the Championships Central page.
