LANCASTER, Pa. - Sophomore pitcher Claire Fitzgerald of the Haveford College softball team was named Centennial Conference pitcher of the week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Fitzgerald had a memorable start to the 2012 season as she tossed her first collegiate no-hitter, in just her second outing of the spring, to lead the Fords to a 2-0 victory over Wilmington (Ohio) College  last Tuesday. 

Overall, Fitzgerald went 3-0 on the week as she relinquished just five hits and struck out 18, including six in the monumental performance against Wilmington.

Fitzgerald's efforts have helped Haverford to its best start in program history (6-0).
