Season Review: Softball Graduates Winningest Class in Program History

Season Review: Softball Graduates Winningest Class in Program History

Signature wins: Haverford was a dominating 15-2 during the regular season in the first games of scheduled two game sets. That record included a perfect 12-0 mark in game ones after the team returned home from Florida. Strong performances led the way to another successful campaign for the Fords in 2015 as they qualified for the Centennial Conference Tournament for the third straight season.

Season Notes: Haverford went 25-10-1 overall, reaching the fourth highest win total in program history under first-year head coach Erin Brooks … Haverford's 12-4 Centennial Conference record matched the second best mark in program history … The Fords' Class of 2015 accumulated 97 wins over its four years, the most of any class in program history … Haverford's third straight trip to the postseason was also a first in program history … Kristin Tatum was named third-team NFCA All-Region, becoming just the third player in program history and first since the 2006 season to earn all-region recognition … Tatum was one of a program-record four first-team All-Centennial Conference selections from the team as she led the conference in both home runs (7) and slugging percentage (.686) … She is the first Haverford player to lead the Centennial Conference in slugging percentage, while also becoming the second straight Haverford player to lead the conference in home runs (Jill Schnall) … Sara Tauriello, a second-team All-CC selection, led the conference with a 1.35 ERA … Tauriello has led the conference in ERA during each of the past two seasons … Kendall Chambers led the conference with three saves, marking the third straight season a Haverford pitcher has earned this title … Jessica Koshinski became the first player in program history to earn Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year … Erin Brooks earned Centennial Conference Coach of the Year in her first season leading the Fords … Jill Schnall graduates with the school record in both home runs in a season (9) and in a single game (2).

Looking ahead: The Fords graduate seven seniors that have been instrumental pieces of the previous three postseason berths, including the 2014 Centennial Conference Championship.  Although several mainstays in the lineup over the past four years will need to be replaced, there is still plenty of talent returning with all three of Haverford's starting pitchers from 2015 to go along with third-team all-region performer Kristin Tatum and the Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year Jessica Koshinski headlining those offensive returners.
