Five Named All-CC for Centennial Champions

Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Fresh off its Centennial Conference Championship, the Haverford College softball team had five players named All-Centennial Conference as announced by conference officials. Jessica Koshinski headlined those winners with her first-team All-CC nod.  Kirstin Tatum and Sara Tauriello were named second-team recipients, while Julia Blake and Kendall Chambers earned honorable mention honors. Also garnering conference recognition was Emily Winesett, who was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team.

Jessica Koshinski was named first-team All-Centennial Conference for the second straight season. Last year's Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year led the team with a .412 batting average against Centennial Conference competition. She also drove in 18 runs during the conference's regular season slate and blasted three home runs. Those 18 runs driven in during conference play ranked second in the conference, while her home run total was third best. Her 21 hits during the 16 Centennial Conference games also ranked among the top 10.

Sara Tauriello earned inclusion on her fourth straight All-Centennial Conference team with another selection to the second-team. Tauriello led the Fords with five wins in the circle during the conference schedule in her eight starts. During that time, she posted a 2.48 ERA. She also struck out 56 batters in 42.1 innings as opponents batted just .257 off of the left hander. Tauriello's 9.26 strikeouts every seven innings in conference play ranked her first among her conference peers.

Kristin Tatum earned All-Centennial conference recognition as she joined her battery mate on the second team as a catcher. Tatum is hitting .299 heading into regionals and has a team-best eight home runs and nine doubles so far this season. She also drove in 28 runs and scored 27 more from the clean-up spot in the lineup. Tatum's eight long balls led the Centennial Conference, while she also ranked in the top five in RBI and total bases.

Julia Blake is batting a team-best .338 on the season. One of three freshmen in the everyday starting lineup, Blake raised that average to .340 during conference action. She also scored 14 runs in conference, while swiping each 13 bases over the entire season to rank second among her conference peers. She also ranked among the top 10 players in the conference in runs (29), doubles (9), triples (2), and sacrifice hits (8) throughout the regular season.

Kendall Chambers also earned recognition on the all-conference team. Chambers received her All-CC nod in the designated player position although she also helped the Fords in the circle throughout the year. Chambers hit .283 and drove in nine runs in the Fords' lineup against conference foes. She also smacked four doubles and one home run in conference play. In addition to her offensive production, Chambers has gone 8-3 with a 2.74 ERA during the season. Those exploits in the circle include a 3-1 record and 2.26 ERA in conference action.

The Fords won their second Centennial Conference Championship in the past three seasons with four straight elimination game victories – three of which came in back-to-back-to-back games this past Sunday. Haverford will now travel to the Suffolk, Virginia Regional this Friday at 1 p.m. for its NCAA Regional game against No. 2 Salisbury. The Fords are the No. 3 team in the regional draw.
