Centennial Conference release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Julia Blake has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week after getting her senior campaign off to a quick start during the Fords' first two victories of the year. A decorated player throughout her Haverford career, this weekly honor is the first of Blake's career.

Doing a little bit of everything for the Fords in their season opener, Blake stole two bases that set up a pair of runs that she later scored in the 3-1 win against Plymouth State. Blake drove in Haverford's only other run in that contest. She followed that up with a 3-for-5 game against UMass-Boston (a 10-6 Haverford win), starting that game off with a leadoff home run before later doubling and coming within a triple of the cycle.

Coming into her senior season, the Fords' second year captain is already a three-time All-Centennial Conference performer who earned first-team All-CC recognition during the 2017 season. Blake ranks among the program's top 10 players in numerous offensive categories. Included in that laundry list of stats is the highest on-base percentage (.461) and second highest batting average (.385) in program history.

Softball is currently in Florida while the College is on spring break. Including Sunday's two games, the Fords are scheduled to play a total of 10 games in the Sunshine State throughout the week before returning north.
