LANCASTER, Pa. - Dominique Meeks tallied 14 points and 10 rebounds to help the Haverford College women's basketball team remain unbeaten in Centennial Conference play this season as it took down host Franklin & Marshall College, 55-46, Thursday night.

The Fords (4-1, 3-0 CC) scored 14 of the last 19 points of the contest to send the Diplomats (3-2, 1-2) to their second straight loss.

After Franklin & Marshall's Emma Lisle hit two free throws with 4:18 remaining in the contest to tie the score at 41-41, Haverford embarked on a 12-0 run that lasted almost four minutes. Rachel Baskin deposited a tightly-contested layup to put the Fords on top 43-41 at the 3:36 mark and Haverford never looked back. Calla Miller converted a nice feed from Elizabeth Lynch on the next offensive possession to provide some breathing room and the Fords nailed 10 free throws in the final two and a half minutes of action. Meeks, Miller and Victoria Sobocinski accounted for two foul shots each while Jacquelyne Pizzuto went 4-of-4 from the line to help seal the victory.

Haverford jumped out to a 5-0 advantage in the contest on jumpers by Sobocinski and Pizzuto and held the lead for the entire opening 20 minutes. Meek's layup with 6:54 remaining until intermission pushed the Fords in front by eight, 20-12, but the Diplomats answered with a run of their own to trim the Haverford advantage to 23-19 at the half.

Sobocinski (13 points) and Pizzuto (11 points) joined Meeks in double figures. Alex Barbush led F&M with 13 points on 12 shots as the Fords' defense frustrated the leading scorer in the conference (18.2 points per game) each time down the floor. Kristina McCarthy pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds for the Diplomats.

Holding its third straight opponent to below 40 percent shooting from the field, Haverford limited Franklin & Marshall to a season-low 24.6 percent on the night (14-of-57).

The Fords broke a three-game losing streak to the Dips as Franklin & Marshall was the only conference team to take two from Haverford last season.

Haverford continues its rugged Centennial slate on Saturday as it welcomes Dickinson College to Gooding Arena for a 1 p.m. contest.
