Meeks nets Centennial player of the week award after reaching career milestone

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Centennial Conference named Haverford College senior Dominique Meeks the women's basketball player of the week on Monday afternoon.

The conference honor follows a momentous week for Meeks as she became the fourth player in program history to reach 1,000 points in her career when she tied her season high with 16 points in a 56-44 victory over visiting Eastern University on Saturday. The career milestone came on two free throws late in the second half as the senior forward contributed six points in a 13-3 surge by Haverford that clinched the non-conference victory.

Meeks averaged 12 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists in two contests as the Fords opened the week with a 64-58 victory over Delaware Valley College.

This marks the second time in the last three weeks, and third time in her career, that Meeks has attained conference player of the week recognition.
