Centennial honors Wyant with weekly women's basketball award

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Centennial Conference selected Haverford College's Cara Wyant as the women's basketball player of the week on Monday in recognition of the senior's career day against host Swarthmore College this past Saturday.

Wyant, who currently ranks sixth all-time in program history in three-point field goal percentage, came off the bench to deliver a career-high 20 points in 26 minutes of action in Haverford's 67-59 overtime victory over the rival Garnet. The standout performance included an 8-for-11 showing from the field in the first half as Wyant exploded for 11 straight points in a three-minute span right before intermission.

Averaging 13.5 points and seven rebounds on the week, Wyant shot over 60 percent in the game against Swarthmore to help Haverford clinch the top seed in the upcoming Centennial tournament.
