Pizzuto Honored as NCAA Division III Statistical Champion

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Senior Jacquelyne Pizzuto of the Haverford College women's basketball team has been named the NCAA Division III Statistical Champion in assist-to-turnover ratio. Pizzuto finished the 2014-15 season with a 3.41 assist-to-turnover ratio after posting 140 assists and 41 turnovers in 27 games.

In her senior campaign, Pizzuto averaged 11.2 points, a conference-high 5.2 assists, and 2.9 rebounds a game this season. The senior's 140 assists were the most in a single season in Fords' history. She dished out at least five helpers in 16 games and at least three in every game except for one. The two-time captain was also an excellent three-pointer shooter, making 43 percent from long range, tallying 40 on the season. Her three-point field goal percentage (.430) was the second highest in a single season as is her free throw percentage (87.7). The senior point guard also showed a scoring prowess, tallying double figures 16 times including a career-high 22 points vs. Ursinus (Jan. 27). 

For her career, Pizzuto is the all-time leader in three-point field percentage (36.1), free throw percentage (84.6), assists (407), assists average (3.8), and games played (106). She's also in the top ten in points (911), field goals made (317), and three-pointers made (118). The senior was also named to the All-Centennial Conference second team as a junior and All-CC honorable mention as a sophomore. She was just third Fords player in program history to be named to the conference's first team. 

The point guard was part of a senior class that won at least 15 games and went to the Centennial Conference playoffs all four years. The Class of 2015 also helped win a conference title in 2014 and win the first NCAA Tournament win in women's basketball history.
