The Red Hawks tallied the first 15 points of the contest on the heels of a hot shooting start (7-of-10). Behind its full court pressure, the visitors caused three turnovers and made Haverford missed its first six shots during that stretch.

After a three-pointer by Krauss gave the Red Hawks their largest separation of the first half with 4:12 remaining in the quarter, Haverford went on a 9-3 run to end the first 10 minutes of game play. The home team made five of its six shot attempts to get within eight before Montclair State took a 21-11 lead into the second quarter. The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) opponent maintained that double-digit lead, heading into halftime ahead, 41-23.

Montclair State jumped ahead with a stellar 6-of-11 (54.5 percent) from beyond the arc in the first half. The Red Hawks also dished out 11 assists on 16 made baskets while tallying 17 points off of turnovers.

Thursday's doubleheader vs. Johns Hopkins is also Hoops 'N Hoagie Night at the GIAC. At 5:30 p.m., hoagies and beverages will be available as long as supplies last. Family members of Haverford College employees and alumni, especially those cheering loudly for Haverford, are very welcome! Magic by Poly will also perform a magic show before and at halftime of the women's game.
