BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Haverford College basketball team sprinted to a 64-22 win over host Bryn Mawr on Tuesday evening at the Class of 1958 Gymnasium. Sierra Berkel had 20 points and 10 rebounds to pace Haverford with a double-double in the victory. Berkel's double-double effort was her fourth of the season. The Fords are now in the midst of a four game winning streak. Haverford sits at 14-3 on the season and 10-2 in conference play. Bryn Mawr falls to 1-16 on the season (0-13 CC) in defeat.

The first quarter was a sluggish start for both teams as the squads struggled for shooting consistency in the early goings. Haverford shot just 18.8 percent from the field in the first 10 minutes of the contest, recouping the struggles from the field with a perfect 4-4 mark from the free throw line to take a 10-7 lead into the second quarter.

In the second, the Fords showed why they came into the contest with the ninth-ranked scoring defense in all of NCAA Division III, holding the Owls to just four points in the final 10 minutes of the first half.

Continuing the stifling defensive effort even after intermission, Haverford held Bryn Mawr scoreless until the 3:33 mark of the third quarter. Haverford held the Owls to single digits in each of the four quarters.

The Fords controlled the tempo with a massive 30-2 run that completely changed the dynamic of the contest that was close throughout the first quarter and into the opening moments of the second.

A spot up jumper from Samantha Wetzel stretched the run to 30-2 at the 3:48 mark of the third before the Owls were able to end the drought with a Helena Martin layup on the other end. Julianna Clark stretched the lead to 33 with a three-pointer in the final minutes of the third quarter. The lead stretched to as many as 44, with Hannah Zoll making the last shot from the field for the visitors at the 5:05 mark of the fourth quarter.

Samantha Wetzel had a well-rounded game for the Fords with eight points, six rebounds and five blocks, setting the tone on both sides of the ball for Haverford.

The Fords were able to capitalize on contributions from the reserves including a nine-point night from Anna-Sophia Capizzi. Unique Tuberville had four points and three rebounds. Chloe Juriansz saw action, making two blocks and collecting a rebound. Haverford finished 20-22 from the charity stripe, the 11th best performance from the free throw line in program history.

Martin was the Owls top scorer with seven points. Sydney Garner compiled eight rebounds in a losing effort.

The Fords face a quick turnaround, returning home for a matchup with Ursinus on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. The game will be part of a doubleheader with the men's team, which faces off with the Bears at 8 p.m. Haverford's annual Senior Blanket Ceremony will take place at halftime of the men's game.

Following the Thursday night matchup, the Fords are at Dickinson on Sunday (2 p.m.)
