WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's basketball team has capped a historic 2019-20 campaign with a spot on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll, the organization announced in a release on Tuesday afternoon.

The Centennial Conference champions earned the honor for the fifth time in program history, taking home the plaudit for the first time since the 2015 campaign. The Fords team GPA checked in at No. 14 in the Top 25, the second highest showing for the squad all-time, second only to the 2014-15 team which ranked eighth.

In addition to being the only program in the Centennial Conference to earn the prestigious recognition, the Fords were one of just seven teams in Division III that both earned recognition on the top 25 list and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

Earlier this season, Anna-Sophia Capizzi, Erica Fenton, Raina Gully, Lauren Howard, Nyla Robinson, and Hannah Zoll were each named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. Capizzi, the Centennial Conference's Player of the Year, was also named a Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area selection in April.

Haverford reached the NCAA tournament for a third consecutive season in 2019-20, winning back-to-back Centennial titles for the first time in program history. Haverford's 23 wins were the second-most in program history, falling short only to the 2013-14 squad that delivered the program's first conference title. The Fords also posted 18 wins in Centennial play, the most in school history, while Haverford's defense allowed just 47 points per game, the fourth-lowest total in the nation.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2019-20 season is the 25th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
