Women's Basketball Adds CC All-Conference Awards

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's basketball team was well represented in the annual release of the Centennial Conference postseason awards, the conference announced on Wednesday morning. Haverford sophomore guard Ally Landau was named to first-team All-Centennial Conference honors while junior forward Cortlyn Morris picked up second-team designation. Senior Caroline Andersen was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.

Landau's inclusion on the first team ensures a fifth consecutive season that a Haverford player has garnered a first-team designation in the All-Centennial release. In total, the Fords have had eight first teamers in program history. The sophomore sensation was in her rookie season for the Fords, becoming the first player in program history to earn first team honors in their first competitive season.

The Livingston, N.J. product finished second in the conference in points per game (16.2), tallying double-digit scoring totals in all but four games this season. Landau was named Centennial Conference Player of the Week on January 18 after averaging 21.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in a 3-0 week for the Fords.

Landau later notched a career-best 29 in a win over Muhlenberg on February 8. Quickly establishing herself as one of the conference's mainstay guards, Landau was the Centennial Conference leader in total minutes (960) and minutes per game (36.5). A true two-way threat, Landau was first in the conference in total points, (421) field goals made (168) as well as second in assists (91), and steals (66).

Morris, of Bound Brook, N.J., was a constant defensive threat for the nation's top-ranked scoring defense, as she ranked top in the CC and sixth in the nation in blocked shots (79) and blocked shots per game (3.04). The 79 total blocks ranks second in Haverford single-season history, behind only Samantha Wetzel's 86 blocked shots during the 2017-18 campaign.

Morris also ranked fifth in the Centennial Conference in rebounds per game (8.4) and total rebounds (192) as well as seventh in free-throws made (59) and 10th in field goal percentage (38.8). She added 10 points per game, including a season-best 28 against Elizabethtown on November 13 while reaching double-digits on 12 different occasions overall.

Andersen, of Wilmington, Mass. was a force off the bench in her senior season for Haverford, coming back from injury halfway through her senior season in January to log 8.3 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per contest in just over 18 minutes of action per game. Andersen added seven different games in double figure scoring, including back-to-back 14 point nights in wins at Dickinson and Muhlenberg on a mid-January road swing. She stepped into the starting lineup in a 30-point Senior Day triumph over McDaniel on January 29.

In 2021-22, Haverford qualified for the Centennial Conference postseason for the 10th consecutive season, notching a mark of 18-8, including a 14-6 mark in Centennial Conference play under first year Head Coach Steph Carideo. The impressive record included a string of nine consecutive victories, matching the second-longest win streak in program history as the Fords went unbeaten from January 11 to February 2, 2022.
