Robinson Named CC Defensive Player of the Year, Two Earn All-Conference

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Two members of the Haverford College women's basketball team have been named to the All-Centennial Conference teams, the Conference office announced on Wednesday morning. Ally Landau (Livingston, N.J.) earned first-team designation for the second consecutive season while Kayla Robinson (Bristol, Conn.) earned a spot on the second team. Robinson was also named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the first player in program history to earn that award.

She is the second student-athlete in program history to earn any major Centennial Conference postseason award, joining 2019-20 player of the year Anna-Sophia Capizzi in that designation.

Landau earned First-team All-Centennial Conference honors for the second consecutive season after a stellar junior season. She finished second in the CC in points per game (17.1) and also tops the conference in minutes (983), minutes per game (37.8), three-pointers made (48), and total points (444). She matched a Haverford single-game record with a career-best 36 points in the Centennial Conference tournament against Muhlenberg and logged double-digit scoring in all but two games this year.

Robinson earned her plaudits after a standout senior season in which she dominated the glass for the Fords, who made an 11th consecutive Centennial Conference tournament appearance. She led all of Division III with 21 double-doubles, and finished the season ranked third in the nation for total rebounds (371), and third in rebounds per game (14.3), She added a Centennial Conference single-game record 27 rebounds in the Centennial Conference playoff game with Muhlenberg and her 371 rebounds is a Haverford single-season record.

Cortlyn Morris (Bound Brook, N.J.) garnered a spot on the All-Sportsmanship Team. A standout in her own right, Morris currently leads the nation in total blocks (102), as she is expected to earn the NCAA statistical championship in that category barring a monster performance from a Division III shot blocker in the NCAA tournament. She holds the Haverford single-season record for blocks as well as a share of the Centennial Conference record for blocks in a single game (11).

Haverford fell in its sixth consecutive trip to the Centennial Conference semifinals on Friday night, as Johns Hopkins defended home court for the victory in Baltimore, 55-45. Haverford earned a consecutive postseason berth and won 15 or more games for the 11th consecutive season.
