HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College Women's basketball team (4-7, 1-5 CC) were denied a victory by the visiting Dickinson Red Devils (4-7, 4-2 CC) on Saturday 71-51, as the two teams battled in a Centennial Conference matchup inside Gooding '84 Arena on a cold and snowy afternoon.

Both teams traded buckets to begin the contest, with Dickinson pushing out to a 13-6 lead with 4:31 remaining in the first quarter. The 13-point spurt was highlighted by six points from Clair Marion and four points from Mia Chapman.

It was even keel for the rest of the quarter, as the Fords outscored the Devils 9-8 to find themselves trailing just 21-15 after the first stanza. In the first quarter, Ally Landau, Erin Albright, and Gia Flamini all totaled four points each.

The Scarlet and Black opened up the second quarter with an 8-4 scoring run in just under two minutes to pull within two points, 25-23. Audrey Jakway took control of the game for the Fords, scoring all eight points in a quick scoring run.

Over the next three minutes, the Red Devils jumped out to a 7-2 scoring run to push the Dickinson lead back up to a seven-point gap, 32-25. In the scoring span, Chapman rattled off four points and Marion converted a momentum swinging three-point play.

The Scarlet and Black answered back, going on a 9-4 scoring run in just over four minutes to pull within four points at 46-42 with 3:22 left on the clock for the third quarter. Siena Emuobor gave the Fords a big lift, contributing five of the nine points.

The two Centennial Conference foes continued to go back-and-forth to finish the third quarter, as the Red Devils outscored the Fords just 4-3 to head into the final period up 50-43.

Dickinson continued to pile on the points in the fourth, going on a 10-6 scoring run, to pull ahead 60-49, with just 1:47 left to go in the game.

Trying to get back into the game, Haverford intentionally fouled the Red Devils six times to try and capitalize off of missed free-throws. However, Dickinson went 11-of-12 from the charity stripe to close out the game and claim the 71-51 victory.
