Deb Gorth
Title: Assistant Coach-Sabre
Previous College: Brown '09

Deb Gorth began her fencing career late—as a high school junior—with Coach Spencer in Northampton, Massachusetts. Careers in ice hockey and lacrosse had her well prepared, however, and she was a Junior Olympic Nationals quarterfinalist a mere four months after picking up a sabre blade. Gorth’s meteoric rise got her noticed and recruited to Brown University, from which she graduated in 2009.

Twice the captain of the Brown Bears, Gorth led her team to the NFC Championship, and was All–Ivy and an IFA finalist. Having trained extensively with Coach Ed Korfanty and Olympians Becca Ward and Mariel Zagunis, Gorth is particularly adept at tactical strip coaching. A student reacher at Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia, Gorth is also a star of the national Roller Derby Circuit, starting for the Liberty Belles.
