HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's lacrosse team (2-2) defeated Cabrini College (0-2) by a score of 14-10 on Friday evening at Swan Field. The Fords' offense was led by junior midfielder Sarina Manetta, who scored the first goal of the game just about a minute into the contest and finished with five scores on eight shots (seven shots on goal) and also tallied an assist. She also scooped up five ground balls and secured three draw controls. Manetta now has eight total points in Haverford's first four games, including seven goals.

Shortly after Manetta's goal, sophomore Molly Lausten scored her team-leading tenth goal of the season (on Manetta's assist) to give Haverford the 2-0 lead. After a Cabrini timeout, the Cavaliers made some adjustments and scored two goals of their own to counter the Fords' production. This would become a trend as the first half included four tie scores.

Maura Grant scored the team's next two goals and finished the game with three. Rina Rosnow and Manetta scored the last two goals of the half, giving the Fords a 6-5 lead at the break. Haverford carried the momentum into the second half, opening up the frame with three straight goals courtesy of Allie Gibbons, Noelle Smith, and Manetta, to give the team a four goal lead. Again, Cabrini had answers and netted three goals to cut Haverford's lead to one.

The Fords closed out the game with three goals—two by Manetta, and a near-buzzer beater by Elyse Adler.

Christina Gould finished with three assists. Alyssa Sherman gathered five ground balls, added three draw controls, and caused three turnovers.

In net, goalie Megan Chenworth made 14 saves on 24 shots.

The Haverford College women's lacrosse team will be in action again on Tuesday, March 15 against Wesleyan (Conn.) at 5 p.m. at Swan Field.
