HAVERFORD, Pa. – The 23rd-ranked Haverford College women's lacrosse team (9-2, 2-0 CC) earned its second Centennial Conference victory of the season, posting a season-high 19 goals in a commanding 19-5 win over McDaniel (5-5, 0-2 CC) on Swan Field. The impressive performance featured 14 different goal scorers for the Fords. The matchup against the Green Terror was Haverford's annual Mental Health Awareness Game, held in conjunction with The Hidden Opponent.
Junior Kylie McNamara led the Scarlet and Black with four points on two goals and two assists, while Tiffany Mikulis recorded a team-high three goals. Brooke Epstein controlled a game-high five draws, and Finley Jordan caused one turnover while collecting three ground balls. Goalkeeper Annie Bravacos earned the win, improving to 9-2 on the season, while making four saves and picking up a team-high four ground balls in 30 minutes of action. Goalkeepers Ella Salvador and Rachel Marlin each contributed two saves in the second half.
Haverford opened the scoring with back-to-back goals from Epstein and Mikulis before McDaniel's Kat Thayer and Paris Conord tied the game at 2-2 with 5:09 remaining in the first quarter. McNamara's first goal of the day reclaimed the lead for the Fords, and a last-second goal from Daniela Martini gave Haverford a 4-2 edge heading into the second quarter.
Mikulis struck again to open the second quarter, followed by a player-down goal from Abby Bonner at the 12:07 mark, extending the Fords' lead to 6-2. Jordan netted her first career goal off a free-position shot with 8:51 left in the half, while Louisa Coughlin added another goal just two minutes later to make it 8-2. Natalie Frekko tallied her first career goal at the 2:07 mark, and Bella Gattuso scored with 11 seconds remaining to give Haverford a commanding 10-2 halftime lead.
The Fords kept the momentum going in the third quarter. Ellie Hughes opened the scoring, followed by Kalli Mullen's first career goal at the 11:14 mark to push the lead to 12-2, triggering the running clock.
Martini's second goal of the game, combined with Naomi Ku's tally and an assist on a player-up strike by Sophie Jaffe, extended the lead to 15-2. Conord briefly halted Haverford's 13-goal run with a tally at the 2:10 mark, but Natalie Bole's first goal of the day restored the Fords' 13-goal advantage, 16-3, entering the fourth quarter.
Mikulis secured her fifth hat trick of the season just 42 seconds into the final frame, while Frekko's second goal—a player-down effort—pushed the lead to 15 at 18-3. McDaniel responded with goals from Thayer and Charlotte Alexander, but McNamara's second and final goal at the 1:17 mark sealed an emphatic 19-5 victory for Haverford at home.
A rematch of the 2024 Centennial Conference semifinals awaits women's lacrosse in their next game, as the Fords travel to Lancaster, Pa. to take on No. 3 Franklin & Marshall on Saturday, April 5, at 12 p.m at Shadek Stadium.
