Women's Lacrosse Tops Muhlenberg

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- The Haverford College women's lacrosse team (6-4, 2-1 CC) defeated Centennial Conference opponent Muhlenberg College (7-3, 0-3 CC) by a score of 10-8 on a brisk afternoon on the road. The Fords built a lead in the first half and defended it successfully despite being outshot 24-20.

Senior goalie Megan Chenworth stopped 11 shots including eight in the second half and four in the final 8:35 of regulation. Haverford now holds a 26-9 all time record against Muhlenberg, which was receiving votes in the national poll heading into the game.

Offensively, Molly Lausten can add another prolific game to her resume, scoring a team-high three goals and adding an assist in the Fords' win. The sophomore leads Haverford with 22 goals through 10 games this season. She's logged at least one point in every game.

Allie Gibbons and Elyse Adler netted two goals each. Adler, a senior attacker, has scored two goals in each of the Fords' past three contests. Gibbons now has six goals in her last two games and leads all freshmen in scoring with 12 goals on the season.

Courtney Carter and Christina Gould each had a goal and an assist. Gould now has a 17-game point streak extending back to last season. She currently leads the team in points with 28.

On defense, Noelle Smith scooped up three ground balls and Madison Jones caused three turnovers.

The Fords will look to continue their success this Saturday as they come back home to host No. 20 Dickinson in another conference matchup. Game time is set for 12 p.m.
