Haverford’s Kylie Kearon Named 2024 Trina Mangano Scholarship Recipient

Full IWLCA Release

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) is excited to announce that the Officials Recruitment and Development Committee has selected five individuals to receive the 2024 Trina Mangano Scholarship based on their attendance at a College Player Officials Academy (CPOA) event and their commitment to pursuing officiating opportunities in the game.

The 2024 recipients are Kym Ardrey (Lindenwood), Sara Grieco (Lindenwood), Kylie Kearon, Adanya Moyer (James Madison), and Kendall Puls (Siena Heights).

"We are thrilled to have this officiating group on the field with the rising stars of the game—keeping it safe and helping to make it the game we know and love," stated Stephanie Allen, Binghamton University Head Women's Lacrosse Coach and Chair of the Officials Recruitment and Development Committee.

"The game of women's lacrosse continues to evolve, and this year's Trina Mangano scholarship recipients exemplify a dedication to our growing sport and a commitment to maintaining its integrity. We are pleased to honor them as the 2024 scholarship recipients and hope to see them on the field for years to come."

As a junior attacker at Haverford, Kearon has been instrumental in the success of the Fords. With a total of 18 goals in 22 career games played, she is a key contributor to the team that made a run to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years. She added 16 goals and five assists in 16 games (nine starts) last season, scooping nine ground balls, adding nine draw controls and causing a pair of turnovers. Additionally, Kearon earned a place on the Centennial Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll last season.

"Coming from a state that is still underdeveloped in the lacrosse world, I'm so grateful to be given the opportunity to help grow the game," stated Kearon.

Trina Mangano was a nationally and internationally rated official who served on the USL Training Committee, was a CWLOA trainer, and acted as the officials' assignor for IWLCA recruiting events. She was instrumental in supporting the growth of the sport through her work in training officials. In honor of Trina's commitment to developing women's lacrosse officials and promoting their education, these scholarships serve as a fitting tribute to her dedication. "We focus on selecting candidates from diverse regions and backgrounds who want to give back to the game they love," added Allen. "Our sport deserves the best officials who are eager to teach players sportsmanship and safety."
