Women's Lacrosse Retains No. 23 National Ranking Heading into Saturday Showdown

Full IWLCA Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's lacrosse team remains No. 23 in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) National Coaches' Poll, released in a release on Monday, following a dominant 19-5 victory over visiting McDaniel on Saturday, March 29.

Haverford (9-2, 2-0 CC) controlled the game from start to finish, recording a season-high 19 goals in a decisive Centennial Conference win over the Green Terror (5-5, 0-2 CC). Fourteen different Fords found the back of the net in the team's annual Mental Health Awareness Game in partnership with The Hidden Opponent.

Kylie McNamara led the attack with four points (2G, 2A), while Tiffany Mikulis recorded a hat trick. Brooke Epstein controlled five draws, and Annie Bravacos (9-2 this season) earned the win with four saves.

After a 2-2 tie early in the game, Haverford erupted for an 8-0 run to take a commanding 10-2 lead at halftime. The offensive surge continued in the second half, highlighted by Kalli Mullen, Natalie Frekko, and Finley Jordan each scoring their first career goals.

The IWLCA poll features 25 teams, with rankings determined by a panel of college coaches nationwide. Weekly performances influence the standings, which are updated every Monday throughout the season.

Middlebury College remains atop the Division III rankings after two tightly contested games over the weekend. The Panthers edged No. 7 Wesleyan by a single goal on Saturday before securing a 12-7 victory over Hamilton. A strong second-half effort kept Middlebury unbeaten. Tufts holds the No. 2 spot after defeating No. 5 Colby in NESCAC play. Gettysburg climbs to No. 3 following wins over No. 12 TCNJ and Muhlenberg, while Franklin & Marshall rounds out the top five.

Haverford returns to action on Saturday, April 5, for a pivotal showdown against the fifth-ranked Diplomats at Shadek Stadium in Lancaster, Pa. The contest serves as a rematch of last season's Centennial Conference semifinals, with the Fords looking to break through on the road. Opening draw is set for noon.
