Squash Squads Welcome Back Alumni/ae To Campus

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College squash teams held their annual alumni/ae matches on Saturday at the Gardner Integrated Athletic Center (GIAC) Squash Courts on Saturday afternoon.

A total of 24 former squash players made the trip back to take part against the varsity teams. The alumni/ae that returned were: Sarah Madigan '16, Randee Johnson '13, Sabina Aliev '16, Ava Lichauco '16, Avery Weisel '15, Kira Jones '12, Kara Percival '11, Atalanta Henderson, Eliza Williams '11, Alex Spiliotes '12, Shanin Specter '80, Nate Vestrich-Shade '16, Peter Boal '13, Chris Tyson '13, Charlie Michele '13, Laurenson Ward '16, Arman Terzian '14, John Cummings '14, Jon Nguyen '16, Matt Rohn '14 , Robbie Thompson '13, Alex Egilman '16, Will Greer '16, Justin Berlin '86 and Greg Palitz '75.

The current men's team took home a 13-2 victory over the alumni team. Alex Liu, Yash Singh, Ryan Dukarm, Aaron Horowitz and Cyrus Bahadori each picked up a pair of wins. Four matches went to a decisive third set. Seven different current Fords picked up wins in the exhibition effort.

In the women's match, the current team bested the alumni 6-3. Kaitlin Reese, Isabelle Gotuaco, Isabel Agnew, Grace Fioramonti-Gorchow, Emilia Cobbs and Stephanie Lukez all posted victories for the Fords. Anna Kullnigg was defeated by alumnae Kara Percival in a three set thriller. 

The Fords will open up the 2016-17 regular season on Saturday, November 12 at the Navy Round Robin. The men will take on the University of Washington and Richmond (2:00/4:30 p.m) while the women will face Johns Hopkins (4:30 p.m.).
