NEW HAVEN, Conn. -  The No. 29 Haverford College women's squash team (10-8), finished its CSA Team Championships slate with a win in the Epps Cup consolation final on Sunday, taking down No. 31 Boston College by a final score of 6-3. Haverford assured a 10 win season for the second time in program history and the first time since the 2014-15 season.

Caroline Smith won the first match of the afternoon to reach its conclusion, sweeping Abigail Arturi (11-4, 11-9, 11-5) at the ninth flight. Her victory was the only tally that Haverford would claim in the first grouping of matches as Tia Brown was defeated by Kate Setteducate at the third flight (8-11, 11-6, 11-1, 11-8), and Caroline Kacha was also able to slip past Shreya Singh in four games at the fourth flight (12-10, 11-9, 6-11, 11-5).

The second round of matches to reach conclusion was highlighted by the strong play of Isabelle Johnson at the top flight, as the sophomore easily swept past BC's Samantha Stevenson (11-1, 12-10, 11-5). Urgyen Wangmo also grabbed a victory at the seventh flight, shaking off a second-game loss to rattle off two straight wins in a closeout effort (11-8, 7-11, 11-4, 11-7). Maisie Smith recorded Haverford's fourth match victory in a five-game thriller, dropping the first and third games to Alexa Setteducate before rallying in extra points in the fourth to force that fifth game. The fifth game went to Smith in a relatively straightforward 11-5 decision (9-11, 11-4, 7-11, 14-12, 11-5), putting Haverford on the brink of clinching.

In the final grouping of matches to hit the courts at the Hopkins School, Sophia Jackson allowed just 11 total points to Kelli Mactaggart (11-2, 11-4, 11-5) at the eighth flight. With the victory, Jackson matched Allyson Scherb '07 for the program's single-season individual wins record. Jackson has amassed an impressive 14-1 record in her senior season. Kaitlin Reese then won in four at the second flight, shaking off a first game setback to check off three straight wins, dispatching Sabrina Didizian (9-11, 11-6, 11-4, 11-7). Lulu Berner was able to put a third and final win in the Eagles column with the overall match already decided, taking down Sunny Chai in four games at the fifth flight (11-9, 11-9, 4-11, 11-6).

Haverford will take the No. 29 ranking into the offseason after finishing as the fifth-place team in the Epps Cup division. The Fords have won three straight meetings with Boston College dating back to 2017.

With the team season now concluded, Haverford will send representatives to the CSA Individual Championships, which are slated for March 6-8 at the Penn Squash Center in Philadelphia.
