No. 29 Women's Squash Drops Regular Season Finale at No. 21 Dickinson, 9-0

CARLISLE, Pa. - Playing their second match in as many days, the No. 29 Haverford College women's squash team (3-10) concluded the regular season on Saturday afternoon at the Kline Squash Center on the campus of Dickinson College, falling to the No. 21 Red Devils (5-8) with a final score of 9-0. Haverford struggled to find consistency against a talented Red Devils side, with the hosts claiming sweeps at all nine spots on the ladder.

In the first round of matches, Emi Krishnamurthy and Maya Johnson-Fraidin faced off against Katie Herring and Thea Hegde, respectively. Herring prevailed 11-1, 11-1, 11-1, while Hegde defeated Johnson-Fraidin 11-0, 11-4, 11-2. Ella Goldman swept Lily Matthews (11-3, 11-0, 11-1), and Amna Fayyaz got the better of Ariana Solecki at the top flight, with Solecki putting up a match-best eight points in the third-game loss (11-1, 11-5, 11-8).

The overall match was clinched  for the hosts at the sixth flight, with Matilda Chartener falling to Victoria Savelius (11-2, 11-0, 11-3). Emerson Rains swept Sarah Kotapka at the ninth flight, Cate Moll got the better of Amy Saxon at seven, and Zoe Liu battled Whitney Finney at the fourth flight (11-1, 11-7, 11-4). Anne Leeakey defeated Catherine Fortin at the second spot on the ladder. 

Looking ahead, Haverford will now head to its first appearance in the Liberty League Squash Championships, with action slated to begin on Saturday, February 10, at the Robie Squash Center on the campus of St. Lawrence University. More information on the conference tournament will be available soon.
