Liberty League Championships Preview
CANTON, N.Y. – The Haverford College men's and women's squash teams will travel to Canton, N.Y., this weekend for the 2025 Liberty League Squash Championships, set for Saturday and Sunday at the Robie Squash Center and Dordelman Championship Court on the campus of St. Lawrence University.
Women's Preview
In just their second season competing in the Liberty League, the Fords have made an impressive mark. After debuting in the conference championships last year with a fourth-place finish, they have built on that momentum, winning three of four matches against Liberty League opponents this season.
The team's dominance was on full display on February 1, when Haverford swept William Smith and Vassar in back-to-back matches to close out Senior Day at home on the GIAC Courts. The victory over Vassar was the team's second of the season, following a triumph in November. The Fords' lone setback against a Liberty League foe came on January 18 against then-No. 22 Denison.
At the top of the lineup, reigning Liberty League Player of the Week, senior Ariana Solecki, and sophomore Joelle Phuah have taken turns leading the squad, each earning a pair of victories at the No. 1 position. First-year standout Ofri Geva has also been turning heads, compiling a team-best five wins at the No. 7 spot and earning Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors. With strong performances throughout the lineup, Haverford looks poised for another deep run in the conference tournament.
No. 26 Haverford will open against No. 31 Bard on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. before returning to face No. 27 and tournament host St. Lawrence at 3:30 p.m.

Men's Preview
The Haverford men's squash team is set for its second appearance at the Liberty League Championships, aiming to improve upon last season's fifth-place finish. Ranked No. 27 in the latest College Squash Association poll, the Fords enter the tournament battle-tested, having split four matches against Liberty League opponents this season.
Senior Noah Tunis has anchored the squad at the No. 1 position, earning key victories against Saturday's opponent, Vassar. Sophomores Francis Betkowski and Arvin Krishnan have also played pivotal roles for the Fords, leading the team with six wins each. Senior Garrett Fantini heads into the tournament with momentum after a stellar Senior Day performance that earned him a spot on the Liberty League Weekly Honor Roll. Fantini delivered clutch wins at the No. 6 spot, including a come-from-behind triumph over Hobart's Peter Vorbach and a commanding sweep of Vassar's Razaan Lalji.
Haverford has already proven its ability to rise to the occasion against ranked opponents. In November, the Fords pulled off a thrilling 5-4 upset over No. 28 Dickinson, highlighted by standout performances from junior Aaryaman Aising at No. 2 and first-year Tarun Sargunar at No. 5. Betkowski provided the clinching victory in a dramatic five-game battle. That same month, Haverford avenged last season's struggles against Connecticut College, securing a statement win over the 26th-ranked Camels, 6-3.
With a balanced lineup and valuable big-match experience, Haverford is poised to make another strong push in this year's Liberty League Championships.
Haverford opens against Vassar on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., with the results of that match determining the team's schedule for the remainder of the weekend.
