HAVERFORD, Pa. — Haverford College women's squash seniors Catherine Fortin and Ariana Solecki have been named College Squash Association (CSA) Scholar-Athletes for the 2024-25 season, the organization announced late last week.
The CSA Scholar-Athlete Award recognizes juniors or seniors who have competed in the majority of their team's matches in the top 10 positions, earned at least two varsity letters, and maintained high academic standing throughout their careers. The honor reflects the CSA's commitment to excellence both on court and in the classroom.
Fortin, of Ipswich, Mass., receives the award for a second straight year. A co-captain and All-Liberty League Second Team selection, she played primarily at the No. 3 position this season, finishing 8-12 overall. Her performance included key wins during a November sweep of Connecticut College and Vassar.
Solecki, from Brooklyn, N.Y., also served as co-captain and earned All-Liberty League Second Team honors. Competing mostly at No. 1, she tallied five wins on the season, including a pair of victories on Senior Day that helped close out the regular season on a high note.
Fortin and Solecki helped lead the Fords to one of their most successful seasons in program history, finishing 9-11 overall and 3-1 in Liberty League play. As the team turns the page to a new chapter, Haverford will look to build on that momentum in 2024-25 behind a strong returning core.
