Lauren Johnston, a former standout women’s squash player at Franklin & Marshall College, has served as the Assistant Squash Coach at Haverford College since 2019. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Health from F&M in 2018 and later obtained a master’s degree in Public Health and Policy from Thomas Jefferson University.
During her collegiate career, Johnston helped lead the Diplomats to their highest ranking (14th) in program history.
In addition to her coaching and playing achievements, Johnston was appointed to the College Squash Association’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Coaches Committee in 2021 and serves on SquashSmart’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. She is also a founding board member of the Black Squash Alliance (BSA), a nonprofit dedicated to supporting BIPOC squash players at all levels of the sport.
A passionate public health advocate, Johnston is dedicated to destigmatizing substance use and addressing mental health challenges in athletics. She also continues to compete professionally as a player on the Squash Doubles Association (SDA) tour.
