BALTIMORE – The No. 4 seed Haverford College women's tennis team saw its 2010 season come to an end with a 5-0 loss at top-seed and No. 15-ranked Johns Hopkins University Saturday in Centennial Conference semifinal action.

Candace Wu defeated Katie Drooyan in straight sets (6-1, 6-1) at No. 4 singles for the Blue Jays fourth point. The victory was clinched at No. 6 as Andrea Berlinghof downed Sarah Gibson; 6-0, 6-2.

Despite dropping her first set, Helen Fisun held a 3-1 lead at No. 3 when the match was halted.

Hopkins improves to 14-8 and will face the winner of Saturday's other semifinal between No. 2 seed Swarthmore College and No. 3 seed Dickinson College Sunday at 11 a.m.

The Fords finish their season 8-8 and will return 10 members to the 2010-11 squad. Saturday marked the final match for seniors Jaclyn Porter and Fumiko Shogase.
