HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's tennis team defeated visiting McDaniel College, 9-0, in a Centennial Conference match Saturday afternoon in Alumni Field House

The Fords (8-1, 2-1 CC) had 6-0, 6-0 victories from Katie Wettick, Helen Fisun, Hannah Silverstein and Abbey Flynn. Rachel Torg earned a 6-2, 6-0 win.

Fisun increases her singles record to a team-best 8-1 this season. Wettick earned her seventh win, all at the No. 1 position.

In doubles play, Haverford won two matches by 8-0 scores, while the third was picked up by forfeit. The duos of Wettick and Alex Ferrera, and Katie Drooyan and Kate Donches are both 8-1 in 2010-11.

McDaniel is now 0-8 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

Haverford returns to action with a home Centennial Conference contest against Ursinus College Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
