Wettick, Ferrara, Fisun tabbed for all-conference honors in women’s tennis

LANCASTER, Pa. – Haverford College seniors Katie Wettick and Helen Fisun and freshman Alex Ferrara have been named to the 2011 All-Centennial Conference Team as announced by the league office Thursday afternoon.

Wettick put together a 13-6 season in the No. 1 slot for the Fords to help earn her third consecutive first-team nod. She will be named to her third consecutive Centennial academic honor roll this spring and exits the program with a career singles record of 45-23, all in the top singles spot for the Fords.

Ferrara earned second-team singles honors in her first season with the program. She was 11-3 in the No. 2 spot and 2-0 in third-flight play.

Fisun, who also earned a second-team singles nod, was 5-0 playing in the second flight for the Fords throughout the year and compiled an overall record of 13-6, which included a 6-4 mark in Centennial action. She closes out her Haverford career with a 35-30 singles record.

The doubles pairing of Wettick and Ferrara was voted second-team all-conference after posting a 13-5 record for the year. Over her career at Haverford, Wettick was 39-28 in doubles action, all in the No. 1 slot.

Haverford (13-7) finished the year with a 6-4 mark in Centennial action, earning the fifth seed in the conference's postseason tournament where it fell to fourth-seed Muhlenberg College, 5-0, to end its spring.
