Women's tennis starts new win streak with conference victory at Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. – Three Fords won twice Saturday in Haverford College's 6-3 women's tennis victory over host Dickinson College in Centennial Conference action.

The win by Haverford (12-2, 5-2 CC) over the Red Devils (6-6, 4-3) came against the Atlantic South Region's 13th-ranked team and started a new win streak for the Fords following a mid-week triumph over Moravian College.

Katie Wettick and Alex Ferrara teamed up for one of two points won by the Fords in doubles play, taking down Alysia Rodgers and Shannon Lavery at 1-doubles by an 8-2 score.

Kate Donches and Katie Drooyan teamed up in the second flight for another Fords point winning by the same score at Wettick and Donches.

Wettick, Ferrara and Donches captured points in singles play which, combined with Helen Fisun's win in the third singles flight, clinched the match for the Fords.

Haverford has posted two four-match win streaks during the spring season, one to open the schedule and the second following a loss to nationally-ranked Johns Hopkins. Seven of the eight wins in those two win streaks were by 9-0 scores.

Next up for the Fords is a Wednesday afternoon battle with visiting Washington College which entered the weekend with an 11-1 overall record and a 6-1 conference mark.
