Donches wins twice, but Fords fall to New York University, 5-4

BOGOTA, N.J. – Kate Donches was victorious in her singles and doubles matches, but the Fords fell to host New York University, 5-4, in a non-conference women's tennis match Sunday afternoon.

Donches, paired with Katherine Drooyan, earned an 8-6 victory in the No. 2 match. The duo is now 13-3 this season.

In singles, Donches fought of Ramya Pokala in the No. 5 spot to get the 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (11-9) decision. Katie Wettick took the No. 1 match 6-4, 6-1. Ferrara picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win in the No. 2 match to get the Fords (12-4) final point. All three players picked up their 12th singles win of the season.

NYU is now 1-8.

Haverford returns to the court on Tuesday, April 19 for a rescheduled non-conference match against visiting Wilkes University starting at 3:30 p.m.
