Haverford picked 4th in preseason conference poll

LANCASTER, Pa. -  Haverford College resided in fourth place when the Centennial Conference announced its 2012 preseason women's tennis poll on Thursday morning. The poll, voted on by the conference coaches, overwhelming supported Johns Hopkins to repeat as conference champion as the Blue Jays earned all 10 first-place votes for 100 total points.

The Fords received 70 points, which narrowly trailed Washington College, occupying the third spot with 77 points. Swarthmore accumulated 89 points to claim second place.

Haverford, which participated in the conference championship tournament last year after finishing in fifth place, finished 2011 with a 13-7 (6-4 CC) record overall.
