ORLANDO, Fla. - The Haverford College women's tennis team fell to Meredith College, 6-3, on Monday afternoon in non-conference play.

Sophomore Abbey Flynn had an impressive afternoon for the Fords (1-2) as she joined with Kate Donches to earn an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles over Mollie Musgrave and Meg Crumpton of the Avenging Angels (4-2). Later, Flynn faced off against Crumpton again in singles competition and rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 victory.

Accounting for the other Haverford point on the afternoon was Alex Ferrara who took down Mary Lawrence Newton at No. 2 singles in straight sets.

Earlier in the day, the Fords dropped an 8-1 contest to The College of New Jersey. The Lions (7-0) are currently ranked 19th in Division III in the current Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll.

Ferrara and Caitlin Gallagher accounted for Haverford's lone point as they won 8-6 at No. 1 doubles.

Despite falling in singles, Ferrara and Gallagher also performed well there as they both dropped tight three-set affairs by a score of 7-5 in the deciding set.

The Fords continue their week of action in Florida with contests on Tuesday against King's College (Pa.) at 11:30 a.m. and St. Mary's University of Minnesota at 5 p.m.
