EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. - The Haverford College women's tennis team finished out the non-conference portion of its schedule with an 8-1 loss to host Wilkes University on Thursday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.

The Fords (5-6) could not cool off the Colonels (9-0) as  their sole point of the afternoon came from Caitlin Gallagher's victory at No. 2 singles. Registering her sixth win of the season in singles competition, Gallagher rolled past Katrina Lynn in straight sets -- 6-4, 6-3.

Looking for her third consecutive win at singles, Alex Ferrara put forth a strong effort at No. 1 but was edged by Melanie Nolt in a third-set tie break, 10-8.

Haverford, ranked 16th currently in the Atlantic South region, heads to McDaniel College on Saturday for a Centennial Conference match starting at noon.
