Third-straight conference win for women's tennis

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Haverford College women's tennis team edged host Franklin & Marshall College, 5-4, on Saturday afternoon to register its third-straight Centennial Conference victory.

Trailing 2-1 after doubles competition, the Fords (8-6, 4-1 CC) captured four of the six singles matches to rally for win against the Diplomats (3-7, 0-4).

Kate Donches, at No. 3, rolled to victory in straight sets. Surviving a tight 7-5 first set, Alex Ferrara, at No. 1, grabbed a 6-2 win in set two to tally her fifth singles win in her last six outings. Caitlin Gallagher, playing at No. 2, won her fourth-straight singles contest after outlasting Megan FitzMaurice, 7-6, in the first set.

Rallying from a one-set deficit, Abbey Flynn at No. 6 came back to sail past Shannon Littlefield in the remaining sets to help Haverford secure the victory. 

The Fords, looking to keep their win streak intact, host Muhlenberg College on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
