Women's tennis volunteers at Trevor's Place

PHILADELPHIA – Members of the Haverford College women's tennis team recently spent time volunteering at Trevor's Place, a homeless shelter in Philadelphia for women and children.

The team members, in conjunction with the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey's Community Action Center, babysat the toddler-aged children and tutored the school-aged children in their homework while their mothers attended a community meeting encouraging them to "Get Moving."

Trevor's Campaign addresses the problem of homelessness through a four-pronged approach: outreach, housing and services, redistribution and public education/advocacy. Every year Trevor's Campaign houses over 100 homeless mothers and children. In addition to comprehensive programming, they are provided with three healthy meals (and snack) each day.
