Women's tennis sets 2013 slate

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's tennis team, ranked No. 18 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic South region,  begins the spring portion of its schedule on Feb. 23 against visiting New York University.  The match at The Gary Lutnick Tennis & Track Center against the Violets, tied for 20th in the ITA Northeast Region, is the Fords' lone competition before they head to Florida for spring break.

After four contests in Florida from March 11-15, including a match-up with St. Lawrence, No. 15 in the ITA Northeast, Haverford returns home to host Wilkes, seventh in the ITA Atlantic South, on March 20.

The Centennial Conference slate begins on March 22 when the Fords make the short trip to Bryn Mawr College to take on the Owls. Following three straight home conference matches on March 30, April 3 and April 6, Haverford travels to Baltimore, Md., to take on defending Centennial champion Johns Hopkins University. The match-up against the Blue Jays, ranked 11th nationally, will be the first of three consecutive road contests for Haverford.

The closing stretch of the regular season includes home dates with Washington College (April 17), which the Fords defeated in the opening round of the conference tournament last season, and rival Swarthmore College (April 25). The Garnet begin 2013 ranked eighth in the Atlantic South. A road trip to Gettysburg College on April 27 caps the regular season.
