WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Haverford College women's tennis team blanked host McDaniel College, 5-0, in Centennial Conference action Saturday night at the Carroll Tennis Center.                            .

Forced indoors due to the rain, the two squads agreed to play just to decision and the Fords (6-2, 2-1 CC) wasted no time in claiming their third straight victory.

Haverford won each of the five singles matches that were contested against the Green Terror (1-7, 0-2) in straight sets. Robyn Himelstein at No. 3, Kate Donches at No. 4 and Abby Payson at No. 5 all registered dominating 6-0, 6-0 victories.

Playing at No. 2, senior Alex Ferrara dropped just one game in her win over Elisa O'Meara while junior Caitlin Gallagher was just as impressive in a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Laura Pollard at top-flight singles.

The Fords travel to Ursinus College on Tuesday in the first of two straight road contests. The conference match against the Bears begins at 4 p.m.
