HAVERFORD, Pa. – Caitlin Gallagher was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Tennis team for the third time in her career. With her third honor in as many seasons eligible, Gallagher becomes just the sixth student-athlete in school history to earn mention three times in one single sport. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of 29 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, an athlete must be in at least his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or better.

Other Haverford College student-athletes that have earned recognition for their sports three times include Josie Ferri '12 (women's lacrosse), Dean Granoff '08 (men's lacrosse), Dillon Hamill '12 (men's lacrosse), Mary Hobbs '13 (field hockey), and Andrew Lanham '10 (men's cross country).

A Class of 2015 graduate from Haverford College, Gallagher is one of just seven players in program history to win 100 career matches between both singles and doubles. She is ranked eighth in program history with 54 singles victories and sixth in school history with 47 doubles victories. During this past spring, Gallagher was named first-team All-Centennial Conference in singles for the third time in her career. She earned second-team All-CC honors in singles as a freshman.

The 2013 Centennial Conference Player of the Year was also named second-team All-Centennial Conference in doubles for the third time in her career following the 2015 season. She earned that same honor following the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Gallagher was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll three times in her career. She has also earned the 2015 Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor and three ITA Scholar-Athlete honors to date with the 2015 winners yet to be announced. The Fords' team captain was also an Ambler Scholar-Athlete and MacIntosh Award winner during her collegiate career.

Gallagher, a native of New Canaan, Conn., graduated from Haverford with a degree in East Asian Studies. She is joined on the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Tennis team by Saint Joseph's Aurora Davis, Penn's Sol Eskenazi, Rutgers-Camden's Amanda Hickman, Gwynedd Mercy's Gabrielle Muller, and Chestnut Hill's Iman Williams-Mulesa. Eskenazi was named the team's performer of the year.
