Women's Tennis Receives ITA Academic Team Award

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced that the Haverford College women's tennis team received the All-Academic Team award and had 10 players achieve scholar-athlete status.

This marks the 12th consecutive year that the women's tennis team was honored with an ITA All-Academic Team award. To receive an All-Academic award, a team must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or above.

The Haverford scholar-athletes were Abigail Healy, Abby Payson, Alyssa Lavin, Caitlin Gallagher, Caroline Steliotes, Emily Chazen, Jessica Liu, Kristen Andersen, Olivia Rauss, and Robyn Himelstein. For student-athletes to earn an ITA Scholar-Athlete status they must be a varsity letter winner and have a grade point average of at least 3.50.

The Fords went to Centennial Conference playoffs for the seventh straight season in 2015. The Fords' 15 wins were the most since the 1999 season. Their playoff run included a 5-0 win against Ursinus on the Bettye Marshall Tennis Courts during the first round of the conference tournament. Haverford finished the year ranked 12th in the ITA regional rankings after climbing to as high as No. 10 during the regular season.
