Virtual Senior Days: Haverford College Women's Tennis Class of 2020

With the 2020 spring sports unable to hold Senior Days on campus, the Haverford College Athletic Department is recognizing these seniors in a virtual ceremony, with some special help from their teammates. Today, we celebrate the 2020 Haverford College women's tennis seniors.

2020 Haverford College Women's Tennis Senior Class

  • Haverford advanced to three Centennial Conference Tournaments, including the program's second-ever championship match appearance in 2018
  • 34-23 team record over last four years (23-7 in Centennial Conference matches)
  • Fords attained program's first-ever national rankings during the 2018 season
  • These three student-athletes were each named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor and were selected as ITA Scholar-Athletes multiple times during their respective careers

Clara Farrehi • Chemistry major (Biochemistry concentration); Economics minor • Ann Arbor, Michigan

  • Team captain
  • William W. Ambler '45 Award recipient for holding the highest cumulative GPA among Haverford senior student-athletes
  • 2019 Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year
  • Second-team All-Centennial Conference in doubles (2019)
  • 60 combined career wins between singles and doubles
  • Four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete (2017, 18, 19, 20)
  • Three-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll (2018, 19, 20)
  • Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team (2019)

Mima Khazanov • Economics major; Neuroscience and Russian minors • Jersey City, New Jersey

  • Won nine combined career matches
  • Posted a perfect 6-0 record in Centennial Conference action
  • Tallied a career-best five combined victories during junior season
  • Two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete (2019, 20)
  • Two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete (2019, 20)

Emily Shutman • Biology major; Health Studies minor • Huntington, New York

  • Team captain
  • Earned All-Centennial Conference in both singles doubles during sophomore and junior seasons
  • First-team All-CC in singles in 2019 after earning honorable mention recognition in 2018
  • Two-time second-team All-CC in doubles (2018, 19)
  • Two-time Centennial Conference Player of the Week during senior season
  • 70 combined wins between singles and doubles
  • Three-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll (2018, 19, 20)
  • Three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete (2018, 19, 20)
