Why did you choose Haverford?
I chose Haverford because the campus felt like home. When I visited everyone was friendly and I loved the small college feel. I felt that Haverford was a school where I would be able to play a sport I love at a school where I feel comfortable and academically challenged and that was the complete package.

What is your favorite team experience?
My favorite team experience was definitely spring break in 2020. The team went to Hilton Head for our spring break and played other colleges of similar levels. I missed my first-year and spring break due to injury so the opportunity to spend that time with my team was a great bonding opportunity. It was also great because we were able to see what we were capable of. Unfortunately, the season was canceled during this break but it also enabled us to appreciate the time we had together.

Why did you choose to play a sport in college?
I chose to play a sport in college because it has always been a part of me. I couldn't imagine not playing a sport in some form, whether varsity or not. One of the other big draws was the instant community you have. When you play a sport in college you are able to meet people of all different classes and you immediately form a group of friends. As an incoming first-year this is great and as you go through college it is nice to have a group you know will always be there.

What advice would you give a high school student considering Haverford?
I would tell a high school student to make sure they are ready to buy in to the Haverford culture. The Honor Code is a huge part of the Haverford culture and if students don't think they can uphold it and believe in it then Haverford might not be the best.

What are your thoughts on the Honor Code?
I think the Honor Code is something that is very important to Haverford and not always understood. There are many issues with the Honor Code that students are determined to improve upon. However, I also think the Honor Code is very effective. There is a trust on campus between students and administrators and between students themselves. There are always places for improvement, but I think it is something that makes Haverford different and in my opinion better than other schools.
