Women's Tennis Has All 11 Players Named ITA Scholar-Athletes

ITA Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced that the Haverford College women's tennis team had each of its 11 players achieve ITA Scholar-Athlete status. The Fords were additionally recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team in addition to their individual success.

This marks the 17th consecutive year that the women's tennis team was honored with the ITA All-Academic Team award. To receive an All-Academic award, a team must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or above.

The perfect representation from the Fords as ITA Scholar-Athletes tied the program record of 11 student-athletes honored from the 2017 season when this year's seniors were first-years with the Fords. For student-athletes to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status they must be a varsity letter winner and have a grade point average of at least 3.50 during the past academic year.

This year's ITA Scholar-Athletes to represent Haverford were Isa Cossio, Sarah Evenson, Clara Farrehi, Claire Johnson, Mima Khazanov, Lisette Pham, Liv Pindzola, Ananya Prakash, Emily Shutman, Anne Tobin, and Natalie Williams. The academic recognition from the ITA matches similar recognition the Fords received early this spring when every eligible student-athlete on the roster was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Although the Fords' spring season ended prematurely, Haverford did record three wins during its abbreviated dual season. That included a strong 7-2 showing against Lake Forest to close out the team's trip to South Carolina as Haverford appeared poised to once again be one of the strongest teams in the Centennial Conference while also a strong presence throughout the Atlantic South Region.
