Ellie Esterowitz Named CC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford women's tennis sophomore Ellie Esterowitz has been named the Centennial Conference Tennis Athlete of the Week, the Centennial Conference office announced on Tuesday morning. 

The Rockville, Md. product registered a perfect 4-0 week as the Fords topped 40th-ranked TCNJ and Franklin & Marshall. In a 5-4 win over TCNJ, Esterowitz teamed with Mimi Lavin for an 8-3 triumph at No. 2 doubles and downed Aira Abalos at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-1. 

In an 8-1 win over the Diplomats, Esterowitz and Lavin won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles before Esterowitz topped F&M's Cassidy Landau at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-2.

The Fords are the ninth ranked team in the Atlantic South regional, and Esterowitz is a team-best 13-6 in singles play while her doubles pairing with Mimi Lavin is 11-5 on the season. She also is 1-1 with Abbey Russano in doubles action. 

Haverford (8-7, 5-2 CC) returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Washington College at 4 p.m. as Centennial Conference play continues into the final week of the regular season.
