Volleyball Welcomes Back Alumnae For Spirited Contest

Volleyball Welcomes Back Alumnae For Spirited Contest

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College volleyball team contested its annual alumnae match on Saturday afternoon at the Gooding '84 Arena, welcoming back a group of 12 alums for a competitive tune-up on the final weekend before the regular season. With the first regular season serve of 2021 rapidly approaching, the contest allowed the team to work on honing skills in a game environment, as the alums certainly proved a formidable test for the current squad.

After the contest, there was a tailgate that served as an opportunity for the current team to both reconnect with former teammates and make new connections with the returning alumnae. The alumnae team consisted of Christine Anderson '20, Derrick Kim '20,  Julia Gallagher-Teske '20, Valentine Courouble '17, Kendall Robison '20, Sara Rennert '16, Madison Adore '21, Jeanna Kenney '16, Sydney Miller '21, Sara Matsumura '20, Meg Mextorf, and Zoe Wong '18.

Haverford returns to action for the first time since the 2019 season on Wednesday, making the trip to Elizabethtown for a 6:30 p.m. serve. The Fords were picked fifth in the Centennial Conference preseason poll and will be looking for its 18th trip to the postseason since 2000.
