Volleyball Punches Ticket to NCAA Tournament, Will Face UMass-Boston In First Round

Full NCAA Bracket

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College volleyball team (23-5) has earned an at-large bid to the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championships, as the Fords will head to Cambridge, Mass. to play matches at the MIT Regional, with action slated to begin on Friday. Haverford will take on a team that doesn't have to travel far in UMass Boston (14-12) as the Beacons captured the Little East Championship, earning an automatic qualification with a win over Eastern Connecticut State in five sets on Saturday. Start time on Friday is still to be determined. Other teams in the MIT regional include the host Engineers of MIT, Eastern Nazerene, Susquehanna, Maine Maritime, Bowdoin, and Johnson and Wales (Providence).

Haverford earned an at-large bid to the tournament following a 3-0 loss to top-ranked Johns Hopkins the Centennial Conference Championship. The Fords will be making their sixth NCAA Tournament appearance all-time and first since the 2014 campaign.

The Fords have faced off with the Beacons two times in program history, as Haverford is 2-0 in those meetings. Haverford was a part of the Beacon Invite in October of 2013, with the Fords prevailing over the hosts in five. The next season, Haverford earned a 3-0 sweep inside Gooding '84 Arena on the first day of the 2014 Haverford Invitational.
