HAVERFORD, Pa. - Four Haverford College volleyball student-athletes earned 2022 College Sports communications (CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA), Academic All-District honors, the organization announced in a release on Tuesday. Senior Kendall Otridge joined sophomores Taylor Jones, Juliet Young and Jadyn Elliott in earning the prestigious academic honor. The Academic All-District volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Otridge, a senior studying environmental science and the team's senior captain has been a stalwart of the Haverford program, appearing in all 84 matches since she arrived on Haverford's campus in the fall of 2019. The San Francisco product has logged 673 kills (2.28 per set), and 145 total blocks in her career, adding that total to 107 digs in three competitive seasons.

Jones adds the award to an already heavy haul of 2022 awards, as she was named an All-America Honorable Mention from the AVCA earlier this month. Jones, who picked up Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors from the Centennial Conference earlier this week, posted a breakout sophomore season in 2022. The Yorba Linda, Calif. product earned her second All-Centennial Conference nod in as many seasons after leading the conference in hitting percentage (.387), and finishing second in blocks per set (0.99) and third in total blocks (86). Haverford's primary blocker finished her season ranked 17th in Division III for hitting percentage, and 47th in blocks per set.

Young, an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention selection as a first-year a season ago, found her way back into the fold for All-Conference after earning Rookie of the Year honors last season. Young ranked second in the CC for digs per set (4.71) and fourth for total digs (410). The Guilford, Conn. product also was seventh in the CC in serve receptions (433) and also ranked within the top 20 in the conference in service aces.

Elliott emerged as one of the team's leading blockers after a stellar first-year campaign as the Chadds Ford, Pa. native has compiled 162 kills and 122 total blocks through just two seasons. This year, she added 1.11 kills per set, including a season-best nine against Muhlenberg on October 12. She also added six total blocks in Haverford's upset victory over then-No. 19 Susquehanna in September.

All four Haverford Volleyball student-athletes will now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Those teams will be announced in a late December release. The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
